Hello.
My name is Ralf Wittkamp and I'm German. I could "guess" danish language a little bit, but I'm not able to write or speak your language. Sorry.
So I hope it's ok, when I write in English and perhaps you are able and you want to answere in English.
My question:
I like Diesel-locos from different countries and so I buyed the Roco DSB MZ 1414 (article number 62712) and I want to show that loco at our club-exhibition with a "north-european-train".
But I have in mind, that in a german forum or in a german magazine was written that the red colour of "one" Roco loco is not correct. But I haven't in mind, if it was the Roco MZ or the MY. And perhaps I am wrong and the red colour is correct at every Roco loco.
So please be so kind and write if the Roco MZ 1414 has the correct red colour or not.
Thank you.
Ralf Wittkamp

Hey Ralf
Don´t care to much about the "correct" red colour, because despite the fact that all the MY, MZ,MX ect. should be in the same red/black colouring, there are plenty of examples of that not beeing so.. and take wind and weather into consideration too.... But, if one of the two should be "wrong", compared to the supposed colour, my guess is that it is the MY.. it looks a bit pale.. but so did plenty of MY loks after a couple of seasons on the "road"

Hi Ralf.
Congratulations on your purchase of the ROCO MZ 1414. It is a very good and well constructed engine in both colour and detail. As pointed out earlier in this tread there is no need to take the colour red too serious, as the only time the real engines were bright red, was at delivery or after an overhaul. Most of the time the colour was rather pale, giving the individual engines a unique appearance. This was also the case on the red passenger coaches.
The discussion you might have heard some about was on the paleness of the ROCO MY 1124. This model is very pale, but still within the 'right' red colour. This is actually also a very good engine, with a lot of details and also a good engine to represent Danish materiel with.
Greetings from Denmark
