Typical Danish brandnames and storenames

Last week I visited Denmark again during a short holiday.

My wife and I enjoyed Fanø very much. (Great island, except for the extremely long waiting for the ferries...) During our stay we visited several cities, like Esbjerg, Ringkøbing, Kolding and Vejle.

Since I want to build a Danish lay out I didn't mind my wife wanted a shopping day in one of the formentioned cities. So I've seen a lot of shops in Vejle. Nice place. And I looked at all these shop through the eyes of a model railroader, because there will be a few shops in the small harbour city I will build one day.

So, I was wondering, did a lot of the storenames and branchnames you see nowadays exist already during the period 1985 - 1999? I want to have my lay out look like that period, as it were the days of the classic black & red DSB-design (I prefer that design and actually don't like the new design that much).

Any idea where to find more information? For example: How long does 'Super Brugsen' exist, and how long does 'Jensens Bofhus' exist, and 'Imerco', and so on.

Your help would very much be appreciated!

Kind regards,

Gert (from Holland)

The name "Jensen's Bøfhus" is used from 1990

"SuperBrugsen" is from 1991

"Imerco" is from 1928

So there is absolutely no problem to use those names in your scenary Smile

And your comment about the DSB design: I do absolutely agree with you.

I do also better like the IC3 when it was in red and white.

Thanks Knud! I will incorporate these brand/shop-names on my layout.

There will also be a 'Dansommer'-servicepoint, since I bought a suitable Faller-kit to make one.

Kind regards,

"Dansommer" is also OK.

The name is from before 1979 and the brand did still exists.

Kind regards,

Gert
